Drake wastes no time and caps off the week with a response to Kendrick Lamar’s most recent diss records.
Over various beats produced by Boi-1da, Tay Keith, Mark Ronson, Fierce and Kevin Mitchell, Drizzy responds to the parenting criticism that Kendrick has made and also hints on alleged dirt within his own family.
“All that puppy love was over in y’all late teens / Why you never hold your son and tell him, “Say cheese?”, raps Drizzy. /”We could’ve left the kids out of this, don’t blame me / You a dog and you know it, you just play sweet / Your baby mama captions always screaming, “Save me” / You did her dirty all her life, you tryna make peace/ I heard that one of them little kids might be Dave Free.”
The release comes with a visual that includes a a GKMC van being towed around Toronto, a hearse, and Drake visiting Toronto Chinese restaurant New Ho King.
“Family Matters” arrives just hours following Kendrick’s “6:16 In LA” and “Euphoria“ from earlier this week. It is Drake’s third diss record following last month’s Taylor Made Freestyle” and “Push Ups”.
