WU TANG MEMBER STREETLIFE RELEASES NEW POLITICALLY CHARGED VIDEO “TIME IS NOW”
Staten Island Nyc
Long before Trayvon Martin & George Floyd there was Ernest “Kase” Sayon. An innocent Black man suffocated to death by police on Staten Island in 1994. Rapper Streetlife, in his new video “Time Is Now,” pays homage to Sayon, using the past to remind us of today’s urgency. The video contrasts black liberation movements with today’s protests, reminding us that police brutality is nothing new. In a steely delivery over dramatic production by Cole Seer, Streetlife implores us to “Rise up.”
Streetlife, Wu-Tang Clan Member—who, like Sayon, hail from Staten Island—releases “Time Is Now” after the smash success of his previous single “Squad Up” which featured Method Man and Havoc from Mobb Deep. The video for Squad Up has reached over 2 million views on Youtube and is the official New York Yankees Team Song for the 2020 season.
The “Time Is Now” video was directed by Ray Cutz and produced by Distrolord.
