After a series of delays, Kanye West finally blesses the masses with his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King. The religious-themed project coincides with the accompanying film, Jesus Is King, now playing in selected IMAX theaters.
Dubbed initially as Yandhi, and recorded in Wyoming much like his previous album, Ye in 2018, Jesus Is King draws inspiration from his ongoing weekly gospel-theme performance series, Sunday Service. Presented with 11 tracks, guest features include the Clipse, Kenny G, Ty Dolla $ign, Ant Clemons, the Sunday Service Choir and Fred Hammond.
Since the first Sunday of this year, Kanye has performed gospel arrangements of his discography and other songs with his band and choir, The Samples. In front of a massive cult-like setting, Ye has held his Sunday Services throughout the country including Calabasas, Coachella, Chicago, Wyoming, D.C., Jamaica, and more, with attendances from DMX, KiD CuDi, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, and more.
