Dipset Reunion Announced By DJ Funkmaster Flex!
The tragic demise is not abrupt, but rather the one marked by a slow, unnoticed decay. One day you wake up, wondering where the years went; you stare at the mirror, the scale, your high school yearbook. And as the maxim says, you can never really go back home–your old haunts are populated by ghosts and dreams deferred. But some things are permanent. Some things are forever. Some things are Dipset.
Just a few weeks after Cam’ron released news that his upcoming Purple Haze 2 release would be his last album, DJ Funkmaster Flex has announced via Instagram that he’s secured terms for a Dipset reunion mixtape and tour. Writing that he spoke with Jim Jones, Cam’ron, and Juelz Santana, Flex says that fans can expect a group mixtape following a five club tour.
It seems the promo for the reunion will officially begin with a long-form Hot 97 radio takeover from the trio this upcoming Monday (January 5). Flex also announced that the planned mixtape will be co-hosted by himself, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Mustard.
After his initial announcement, DJ Funkmaster Flex also posted an image of rapper Freekey Zekey, alluding that the original group member would be involved in the reunion as well.
